What is Pyrolysis?
Pyrolysis is the thermal decomposition of materials at elevated temperatures in an inert atmosphere.
CarbonCycle’s proprietary system for advanced waste tire pyrolysis/gasification provides an environmentally sound approach to design and build scrap tire remediation (biomass conversion) systems for converting waste tires into their base elements of carbon, fuel oil, and steel.

By utilizing pre-fabricated shipping containers as our unit exoskeleton, we are able to manufacture complete modular systems offsite to then simply and quickly reassemble for start-up once reaching their final destination. Maintenance also becomes much more streamlined with standardized parts across units. Simply put, this means more control across the production process, less unnecessary technical headaches and more unit run-time.
Scalable
With modularity comes complete system scalability. A system can begin at a smaller size, requiring far less initial capital investment to get started with Advanced Pyrolysis. As needs increase, so can your facility. System sizes start at 2 tons a day and can be expanded upon to handle up to 150 tons per day in order to quickly and easily meet demand.
Adaptable
Our continuous batch process allows for diverse feedstocks (large tires, scrap sidewalls, plastic, wood, and other products) to be utilized without cross-contamination, higher efficiency of char output, and less downtime. Individual chambers can be repaired and rebuilt without the need to shut down operation of the entire unit.
Efficient
Direct heating/cooling yields faster cycle times with minimal input energy and external energy losses. This reduces auxiliary systems, like nitrogen loops and reduces capital expense while keeping the system simple and efficient. Feedstock loading, and output unloading, has also been designed to keep costs low, staffing demand light and efficiency always front of mind.
Clean
Our Heat Source Thermal Oxidizer achieves 99.99% destruction of all HAPs, (Hazardous Air Pollutants). Unlike other facilities, our system will emit no black smoke and have no tire odor. Permitting becomes far more straightforward with a highly clean system.
